I have an old Orbit 12 zone B-Hyve sprinkler controller, but its WiFi module broke. All I had to do was to create a cable to connect the Pi Zero to the header on the power board of the Orbit. This way, the whole Orbit control module is substituted by the OpenSprinkler Pi. Please, see the wiring diagram attached as an Excel spreadsheet.
Hi, There is option to connect 2 sensors for OSPi: 1. Rain Sensor (Then when it rainy day, and the water is open, it will close automate) 2. Land Sensor (That in computer I see when the land is dry). So well within the maximum OpenSprinkler spec of 800 ma per channel. But, I think the sum is too much for the 16 mil triac gnd trace on the OpenSprinkler pcb. Alternately, I could put 2:1 transformers on the OpenSprinkler channel outputs. That way I wouldn’t have to hack the OpenSprinkler pcb.I am running a new OpenSprinkler (AC) and everything is working great except I cannot change the time zone. That dropdown option is disabled. I have tried enabling NTP and disabling but I still cannot change the timezone. I have set the location as west coast, but it forces timezone -5 which is east coast.

The water dripping zones only require about 1 bar water pressure. My water pump has 4.8 bar – and takes about 900 W and is noisy while running.This way, if the WiFi signal is lost, the remote station will not remain on for more than 2 minutes, to avoid it being left on indefinitely. As a result, if you try to read the remaining water time from the remote station, it won’t be more than 2 minutes. OpenSprinkler gives us control down to the second, so we want to spray the seed trays 4 times a day for 15 seconds. Our previous seed trays always suffered in the outback summer heat. This leaves us 2 spare solenoids for now, wired and ready.

The consequence is that the Zero won’t have much physical support other than the 2×20 pin header, which is pretty tight and does provide reasonable support.
